Change (In the House of Lies)

Welcome to the Agglomeration

As human beings, have we become afraid of change? Are we naturally and instinctively drawn to what is familiar? Do our minds convince us that something that is different is bad and do we therefore stay with what we know?

These questions are interesting because not only are they intertwined but they make good blogging material. Lately I installed the 'new' version of MSN Messenger, Facebook had a renovation which made it look twice as ugly as before, and I also applied for the new social revolution contact web - Twitter.

What's the common theme here? That's right - Change. And I will analyse in depth now whether this is a good or bad change.

It's bad. End of Story.

Quite a strong critique and analysis, if I do say so myself. Now, it's time for a new feature: Weekly Puzzle

Weekly Puzzle #1

Here are some random facts to distract you from my hypocrisy while I go fuel my Zeppelin that was led by a maiden to my iron shed. In the comments, tell me which one of these not true, and you get a biscuit. If you're wrong, you owe me a biscuit.

1. If you have 3 quarters, 4 dimes, and 4 pennies, you have $1.19. You also have the largest amount of money in coins without being able to make change for a dollar.

2. The 57 on Heinz ketchup bottles represents the number of varieties of pickles the company once had.

3. It is believed that Shakespeare was 46 around the time that the King James Version of the Bible was written. In Psalms 46, the 46th word from the first word is shake and the 46th word from the last word is spear.

4. The most money ever paid for a cow in an auction was $1.3 million.

5. The king of hearts is the only king without a moustache.

6. The international telephone dialing code for Antarctica is 672.

7. The largest number of children born to one woman is recorded at 69. From 1725-1765, a Russian peasant woman gave birth to 16 sets of twins, 7 sets of triplets, and 4 sets of quadruplets.

Answers published next week.

To make this post even more abrupt, haphazard, and what one could argue contains a ever-changing theme, a closing quote from Good News Week that I thought was absolutely hilarious:

"You wouldn't be allowed to paint the White House black. You'd have to paint it African-American."

Addendum:

Wait a second, if there was a ever-changing theme but the underlying theme is change then...perhaps we all suffer from metathesiophobia. Or perhaps you should stop trying to find logic in my posts. That way, a stunned mullet can finally eat 3 oysters and become a green French poster plastered on a wall of the ballroom of the Titanic.

Till next time, may you agglomerate all your unpremeditated contemplations.

Before I answer or even read the questions:

"fuel my Zeppelin that was led by a maiden to my iron shed"

I love you.

1. True.
2. False? I'm pretty sure it is false.
3. True, heard this before.

And, lmao @ the 'I go fuel my Zeppelin that was led by a maiden to my iron shed.' good stuff.

hey ric, it's tris, nice blog, interesting stuff

and i know this wille rupt into an arguement, but i think the chang eis going to be better.

logically, the facebook thing. Why woudl someone 'improve' something only to make it worse? wouldn't the creators or moderators take into consideration the fact that what they were doing would probably improve the new interface, rather than make it worse?

Obama, good change. He is legalising marijuana, doing his upmost to help the economy where that republican piece of shit left off, and is honestly a symbol of change. No-more is america or the world dominated by the burden of white suupermacy, obama represents a minority, he represents a chang ein the bpattern from white to black, and he also represents a new beginning for america.

so i believe that change is mostly good, and of course, there would be no good without bad, cuz yin needs yang am i right? i believe that the economical change in the world is ever depressing as usual. Last week i walked by a restaurant i went to when i was only in year 9. It had closed down. The economic change has killed off many of my favorite things and of course that's bad.

i am not going to bother with the riddles, i always get that stuff wrong. excellent blog, please post more interesting topics

OKAY SECOND TIME POSTING COMMENT the first time resulted in a screen which said that and error had occurred...grrr...
okay welll, after doing some research on those riddles...i believe no. 2 is false as the 57 was chosen to represent the number of products Heinz produced at the time. Actually, the number was more that 57 however 57 was chosen as it was seen to be lucky. if i'm wrong, i'll give you that biscuit. if i'm right, you can still have that biscuit :)
nice observation with that human dislike of change. do you really not like the new msn that much? it takes a bit of getting used to but it seems alright.
once again, nice work eric ;P
