Welcome to the Agglomeration
Resignation
Pen to paper, finger to key
If only good ideas were this easy
to come by, to communicate,
but my innermost thoughts I cannot substantiate.
My allusions of grandeur turn
to fragile and hopeless yearnings
of flowing text and eloquent stanzas
resulting in a chaotic extravaganza.
In poetry, such a refined form
of literary expression, I find the norm
to be out of words that really fit
and so I force the phrases to sound legit.
With forced rhymes and misplaced intonations,
Awful sentence structure, and random
enjambment, with always a stanza that doesn't
adhere to the previously concrete rhyme scheme.
And then there's all the techniques to use for sure
Like personification, alliteration and metaphor.
Similes, caesura. Imagery too,
Tied up in a nice neat bow for you.
I honestly try to find the best way
to narrate all the things I have to say
But in the end it comes out all wrong
like scrambled lyrics in a famous song.
By now I'm sure you've all realised
this represents my career's demise.
There's no other way of interpreting it,
I'm simply not cut out to be a poet.
Till next time, may you agglomerate all your unpremeditated contemplations.

Best use of irony I've seen in a while. Especially love the enjambment.
AGGLOMERATE WE SHALL!
Quitting so soon sir?
