Welcome to the Agglomeration
Today I'm going to be like George Bush. Today I'm going to do something that he infamously did in his career (Yeah, which one? - I hear you ask). Today I'm going to show just how full of myself and how arrogant a person I really am.
The year is 2003. The date - 2nd May. Then President George W. Bush landed on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln and a huge banner adorned the tower above him. The banner had two simple words on it, two premature and pre-emptive words that would be the subject of much scrutiny and ridicule on him in many years to come. These words were 'Mission Accomplished'. Needless to say, he believed that under his leadership, America had triumphed over the terrorists responsible for the tragedy of 9/11. Needless to say, he had made this assumption based on faulty intel and needless to say the threat was not over - it still isn't over. Needless to say, I'm going to commit a similar sin on this blog right now. (That enough foreshadowing for you?)
As the few frequent readers of this blog now, there has been a recently established competition called the 'Blogilympics' which contested posts between my very own 'Agglomeration' and my friend Ngiammy's 'Lonely Boy'. Judging by a poll then established after these posts were published, readers would vote for which entry they thought was best. I prevailed in the two rounds that have been completed 6-2 and 10-2 respectively (at this time of posting, anyway). Now after a completely unrelated incident which seemed to have been dragged drastically out of proportion where Ngiammy got so infuriated with me that he decided to block me, he then subsequently confided in a mutual friend that he would like the Blogilympics to be discontinued. Now of course I don't know if this statement is reliable or not, but since Ngiammy has a tendency to adopt the 'If you can't solve the problem, ignore or destroy it' mindset as evidenced by his unwillingness to negotiate under rational terms a peaceful resolution to our disagreement.
And so in the true spirit of George W. Bush I declare 'Mission Accomplished' with this hypothetical banner and declare to all the world that the 'Agglomeration of Unpremeditated Contemplations' has triumphed over 'Lonely Boy' for the very last time. But I suppose I have a little bit more grounding over George to make this statement. I mean, I'm sure the world would've been a little less critical of him if the terrorists he had supposed triumphed over had at the same time surrendered themselves and fall into an eternal hibernation from which they would never wake.
But that did not happen. And so in that spirit, I will also make another revolutionary gesture to my fallen opponent. If you should wish to make a truce, you know where to find me.
Till next time, may you agglomerate all your unpremeditated contemplations.
