A Tribute to Rising Sea Levels

Welcome to the Agglomeration

Tungsten

Your skin keeps me warm every night
when the moon glimmers over our vessel.
Your frame keeps me sturdy every day
when the tides crash into my ark.
Another woeful day at sea,
Another day I lose touch with reality.
Our long journey sees no near finish,
I remember not even when we departed.
Nor do I sense where our goal lies,
our aimless navigation endures.
For weeks and days we have not set ashore,
Drifting, floating forevermore?
The bottomless abyss holds no comfort
in its swaying rhythm of ebb and flow.
On the surface all looks calm, but
what calamity lies beneath?
In the depths of our vast azure pit,
hidden dangers lurk in silence,
stalking the prey for opportunity,
at which it strikes and devours.
Our fragile barge sees no adversary
for we are blind, but what of it?
We sail on sea, but we do not see
the tranquil tempest gathering.
In mere hours, gales buffet our weak schooner,
no match for the wrath of watery vengeance.
Ripped apart, and decimated carnage,
Casualties of collateral damage.
Fearless, our crew and I remain undaunted,
with voyage unfinished and waters untraversed.
Our story shall be lost forever, no eroding shrine
shall alert the unaware bypasser
that there on the Fourth of June 2009
the Tungsten faltered and remained.
Submerged, we sink to the bed where we rest,
weary and worn, and sleep.
Where better to spend the rest of our unconscious days
than a hidden mausoleum of dark suppressed menace.
At least we know that in a matter of years,
The seas shall rise, and so shall we again.

Till next time, may you agglomerate all your unpremeditated contemplations
