My Week Continues to Get Worse

Welcome to the Agglomeration

Earlier I was angry and wanted to rant. Now i'm even more angry, have even more stuff I want to rant about, and am feeling quite down. But hey, let's not spoil the mood. Besides, I know the perfect remedy. Another poem! My friend Ngiammy recently commented that I have enough poems to publish some sort of anthology. That's true, but I don't have enough good ones. So please, in the comments section or the Cbox, list the poems that you think you would want to see in such an anthology, if you think that collating my poems would be a good idea in the first place. If not, never mind.

Sedative

Numb my mind
Destroy the traces
Start the party
Luminous bulbs
Egg cracking headache
But love the rum
Shot in the arm.
But bleeding,
dance on into the night.

Calm my mind
blur the faces
Lengthen the night
Cracked shards of glass
Splinter double vision
And enjoy the brandy with
Bruised pale legs.
But wounded,
stagger on into the night

Kill my mind
lose the races
Light of day
Gleaming scythes of bright
Fractured consciousness
Regurgitate with
Scarred slits.
But alive,
he sits on his throne

above the
commonplace vermin of
filthy rats
lemon curry vomit
and brain dead politicans.

Dazed in a splendour of ruin,
he watches at the people
who pass before him
but pretend he's not even there.

Someone, somewhere, goes to sleep,
satisfied by a roast chicken dinner,
with a bottle in his right hand,
and a lucid script in his left.

The ink drips down and stains his carpet.

Till next time, may you agglomerate all your unpremeditated contemplations

I love this.

I interpret it as a nice drift into escapsim. Escapism is what I need right now, I ran into a mood killer in a TOK-fueled facebook argument.

And who cares, every writer publishes crap poems. It's the absolutely TERRIBLE ones you need to trash.

Methinks that the speaker of the poem wouldn't be as poetic considering the circumstances.
